It should be noted that for many years only the Casa del Habano franchisee could sell Quai D'Orsay cigars. The Casa del Habano brand is a chain affiliated with Cubatabaco. The latter dissolved in 1994 to form Habanos SA, which is now responsible for the development of Casa del Habano. Today, several retailers are licensed to sell Quai d'Orsay cigars. Although these high-end cigars catered to the French market, there was soon demand in Germany and other European countries as well.
