Vegas Robaina

The tobacco grown there is renowned for producing some of the finest leaves in the world, especially when used to make wrappers. In fact, 80% of the tobacco leaves on the Robaina plantation are used for packaging, whereas elsewhere only 30% of the production is used for this purpose. Alejandro Robaina Pereda's farm supplies the Cohiba and Hoyo de Monterrey brands. In 1990, the Cuban government named Alejandro Robaina the best tobacco producer in Cuba.
