Montecristo is the best known and perhaps the most appreciated of all Habanos brands. Think of the Montecristo as the benchmark by which all other Habano cigars are measured. of Its name comes from the novel "The Count of Monte Cristo" by Alexandre Dumas. Tobacco shop readers read the novel to Torcedores at the H. Upmann factory in Havana, where the brand was founded in 1935. Due to the great reception, it was decided to name the new brand after the protagonist of the novel.
