H. upmann

H. Upmann cigars are made using only tobacco harvested in the Vuelta Abajo region and are hand rolled. Founded in 1844, the H. Upmann brand is one of the oldest. In 1844, German banker Herman Upmann opened an office in Havana, allowing him to ship cigars to Europe. In 1844, Upmann saw the business opportunity, invested in a cigar company, and launched the H. Upmann brand. His bank disappeared in the 1920s, but the cigar brand endured.
